Evaporated Salt (or Vacuum Salt)

The origin of salt

Evaporated Salt (or Vacuum Salt)

The evaporated salt or vacuum salt is obtained from saturated brine that comes from the dissolution of the brine patch.

Brine pit

The deposit of rock salt are dug and filled with fresh water. The dissolution of the rock salt in water creates brine (water and salt solution).

Saturation

Once the saturation of the Sodium Chloride (NaCl) is read, the saturated solution can be moved to the next stage of production.

Evaporation of the water or "boiling" process

Through a process of evaporation named "boiling" the water is separated from the salt.

Humid salt

The obtained product is named "humid salt" and it is possible to begin to use it even at this stage.

Drying and compacting

The humid salt, once is dried, is prepared in different granulometries or is pressed in different sizes.
